Role & Responsibilities
- Undertake a vocational apprenticeship leading to the Swiss CFC in micromechanics with a focus on stamp/die making (faiseur d'étampes).
- Learn and perform precision stamping and die‑making operations under supervision, including tool preparation, blanking and finishing.
- Operate and assist on conventional and CNC machine tools (lathe, milling machines, stamping presses) following safety and quality procedures.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications; measure components using micrometres, calipers and other metrological instruments.
- Participate in assembly, deburring, polishing and quality control of microcomponents to meet tight tolerances.
- Attend vocational school modules and on‑the‑job training rotations, applying theoretical instruction to practical tasks.
Qualifications
- Completion of compulsory schooling or equivalent; suitable academic results in mathematics and technical subjects are advantageous.
- Strong manual dexterity, fine motor skills and an aptitude for working with very small parts.
- Keen interest in precision mechanics, toolmaking and watchmaking microtechnology.
- Good visual acuity, spatial perception and attention to detail.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively within workshop teams.
Experience
No prior professional experience required; candidates should demonstrate practical aptitude, punctuality and a motivation for vocational training in micromechanics. Any prior hobbies or training involving manual precision work (model making, jewellery, small‑parts assembly) are beneficial.
Education
Completion of compulsory schooling; suitable for entry into a Swiss vocational apprenticeship program culminating in a CFC (Certificat fédéral de capacité) in micromechanics.
