Role & Responsibilities

  • Undertake a structured apprenticeship curriculum leading to the AFP qualification in mechanical practice, combining on-the-job training and vocational school attendance.
  • Learn and perform precision machining, manual and semi-automated assembly, and finishing operations under supervision.
  • Carry out dimensional inspection and basic quality-control checks using precision measuring instruments.
  • Maintain workshop order, follow safe working practices and adhere to company quality standards.
  • Collaborate with experienced technicians on process improvement, part preparation and small-batch production tasks.

Qualifications

  • Completion of compulsory schooling or equivalent; candidates preparing for a technical vocational pathway are preferred.
  • Strong manual dexterity and a demonstrable interest in mechanics and microtechnical work.
  • Good numerical ability and basic understanding of technical drawings or mechanical schematics.
  • Reliability, attention to detail and a willingness to learn in a workshop environment.

Experience

Education

Completion of compulsory education (lower secondary) or equivalent; enrolment in a recognised apprenticeship programme leading to the AFP vocational qualification.
