Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee all fleet maintenance operations and coordinate efforts required to support EJM-managed aircraft, hangar tenants, and transition aircraft
- Serve as the primary representative to aircraft owners, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), vendors, and department managers regarding fleet maintenance on Full Managed and Charter Managed aircraft
- Manage relationships with external maintenance vendors at off-site facilities and arrange maintenance assets for EJM owners
- Monitor account quality control and resolve high-level maintenance-related issues
- Ensure maintenance production schedules comply with FAA, company, and best practice procedures
- Lead strategic planning initiatives related to hiring, aircraft maintenance and utilization, new aircraft assessment, billing, upgrades, and cost analysis
- Ensure equitable assignment of accounts to three Fleet Maintenance teams to support safe and compliant operations
- Maintain compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and report all safety, security, or quality observations through appropriate channels
- Manage employee performance, provide career development for directors and maintenance teams, and partner with Human Resources on recruitment and onboarding
- Oversee maintenance planning, budgeting, warranty work, invoicing, and aircraft upgrades for EJM-managed client assets
- Monitor and respond to requests during initial and ongoing aircraft onboarding regarding maintenance status, budget, conformity, and required updates
- Interact with regulatory bodies (FAA, EPA, OSHA) and external partners to ensure compliance with all obligations
- Conduct performance reviews, manage payroll, oversee budgets, and handle hiring, termination, and employee counselling for the Fleet Maintenance team
- Prepare Asset Facilities Equipment (AFE) documentation for capital projects exceeding $25,000
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification (must be maintained)
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Aviation
- 10+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance or fleet operations
- Demonstrated experience managing a team of aircraft maintenance managers in Part 91/121/135 and/or military aviation organizations
- Proven ability to make sound decisions under pressure in a regulatory environment
- Strong negotiating and customer service skills
- Detailed knowledge of aircraft management and charter management operations
- Strong understanding of aviation terminology and the business aircraft industry
- General knowledge of new and pre-owned business aircraft operational capabilities, strengths, weaknesses, and purchase costs
- Ability to coordinate with internationally-based clients and operate on executive aviation certificates
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Mxi (or similar aircraft maintenance tracking software)
