NetJets seeks a Senior Platform Engineer in Columbus, OH to architect and maintain cloud-native software systems for private aviation operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, maintain, and support software applications and systems ensuring they deliver business value and are fully prepared for operational use
- Ensure application resiliency, stability, security, and data protection by implementing robust engineering practices, proactive monitoring, and adherence to organizational standards
- Provide technical leadership for engineering teams and contribute to product definition, design, development, integration, testing, and documentation aligned with established technology standards
- Collaborate across functional areas and with business stakeholders to ensure business value achievement
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability by taking ownership of commitments, delivering results with integrity, and ensuring outcomes meet agreed-upon goals
- Operate within an agile team to deliver outcomes iteratively while fostering empiricism, learning, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or related technical discipline
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript with experience building scalable enterprise applications
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting microservices, distributed systems, and API-based architectures
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native services, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Strong experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar technologies
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and GitOps-based delivery practices
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles including secure software development practices, vulnerability management, and security compliance
- Experience operating and supporting production environments including Amazon OpenSearch, ElastiCache/Redis, and MSK/Kafka
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence practices

Experience
4–6 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or related technical discipline. Experience participating in on-call rotations and supporting production systems in high-availability environments is required.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
