The Safety Management Systems Specialist supports implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of NetJets’ SMS program, including safety reporting, risk assessment, performance monitoring, documentation, audits, and safety promotion. Role & Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and integration of SMS processes across applicable operational and support functions.
- Assist with hazard identification, safety reporting, safety risk analysis, and safety risk assessment activities using defined SMS tools and procedures.
- Collect, review, organize, and maintain SMS data, reports, records, and documentation to support regulatory compliance and program effectiveness.
- Track safety risk controls, corrective actions, and follow-up activities to help ensure timely completion and effective closure.
- Monitor safety performance information, assist with trend analysis, and prepare reports, dashboards, or briefing materials for management review.
- Support internal evaluations, audits, assessments, and reviews related to SMS performance, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving SMS procedures, manuals, records, and related documentation to support regulatory compliance and organizational needs.
- Partner with operational teams and subject matter experts to gather information, support investigations, document safety concerns, and promote consistent use of SMS processes.
- Support safety promotion activities, including training coordination, awareness campaigns, safety communications, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist with preparation for regulatory inspections, external audits, and responses to findings or corrective action plans related to SMS.
- Maintain awareness of FAA Part 5 requirements, SMS guidance, and industry best practices applicable to aviation safety management.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support SMS effectiveness, safety culture, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Safety Management System principles, including safety policy, safety risk management, safety assurance, safety promotion, documentation, and records management.
- Familiarity with FAA Safety Management System requirements, including 14 CFR Part 5 and related guidance, preferred.
- Experience supporting hazard reporting, safety investigations, risk assessments, corrective action tracking, audits, or performance monitoring preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review data, identify trends, organize information, and prepare clear summaries or recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and follow-up tracking in a regulated environment.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with employees, leaders, and subject matter experts across functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ability to learn safety reporting systems, databases, dashboards, and other SMS technology platforms.
