The Return to Service Specialist reviews aircraft maintenance records for compliance with federal regulations and NetJets’ General Maintenance Manual, updates tracking records, and releases aircraft for operational use. The role also supervises maintenance or alterations under the NetJets Part 135 certificate and reports to the RTS Supervisor.
Role & Responsibilities
- Review maintenance provider documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal regulations and NetJets’ General Maintenance Manual (GMM); verify that all maintenance performed is documented and assigned maintenance is complete, then release aircraft for operational use.
- Review aircraft weight and balance forms for accuracy and complete the weight and balance update process.
- Verify component certification eligibility and effectivity for installation on NetJets aircraft.
- Update and confirm the accuracy of time-limited component tracking in the maintenance tracking system.
- Communicate with maintenance providers and NetJets representatives as needed regarding maintenance documentation.
- Maintain and update auxiliary power unit (APU) usage records and placards, and provide updated values to maintenance providers when required.
- Determine whether engineering documentation requires additional tracking changes and submit changes for review when required.
- Ensure Required Inspection Items (RII) are properly documented and performed by authorized individuals.
- Ensure fully reviewed and accepted maintenance documentation is successfully submitted to maintenance records for retention.
- Complete additional projects, campaigns, and initiatives assigned by a supervisor or manager to advance company or department goals.
- Review documentation for major repairs and major alterations to ensure compliance.
- Supervise, in an executive capacity, the maintenance or alteration of aircraft operating under the NetJets Part 135 certificate.
- Manage day-to-day operations and issues, reporting to the Return to Service (RTS) Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required.
- A&P license required.
- Previous quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), or Inspection Authorization (IA) experience preferred.
- Vocational training or a bachelor’s degree preferred.

4–6 years of experience; a minimum of 4 years of aviation maintenance experience.
