NetJets seeks a First Officer to command and safely operate private aircraft while delivering attentive passenger service, managing flight briefings, in-flight service, baggage, and maintenance reporting. The role requires FAA ATP or qualifying R-ATP credentials and substantial flight-hour minimums; the annual base salary range is $86,015–$117,706.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Operate the aircraft safely during taxi, take-off, and landing in accordance with FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual or Aircraft Operating Manual, and Standard Operating Practices.
  • Welcome Owners and passengers before flights, introduce the crew, brief them on the trip, verify itineraries, provide weather updates and safety briefings, and explain itinerary changes.
  • Provide in-flight service as needed, including handling alcohol and serving catering.
  • Load and properly stow baggage as needed.
  • Conduct flights for Owners travelling with pets or who smoke.
  • Act as the final authority on the aircraft for all operational matters, ensuring compliance with applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Liaise between Owners or passengers and NetJets from their arrival at the FBO until they have landed safely and departed the destination FBO.
  • Report maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company through the fleet Maintenance Control Center Controller on duty, and complete associated paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, depending on the assignment.

Qualifications

  • Hold an FAA ATP, Restricted ATP, or meet the requirements for an FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with a multi-engine rating in accordance with 14 CFR 61.160.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Meet one applicable flight-time threshold: 1,500 hours total; 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate; 1,000 hours with a military pilot qualification; or 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
  • Have 200 hours of cross-country flight time (>50 nm).
  • Have 250 hours of fixed-wing pilot-in-command time.
  • Have 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with at least 45 night take-offs and landings.
  • Have 75 hours of instrument time, actual or simulated in flight; simulator time is excluded.
  • Complete the ATP written examination before starting Indoctrination Training.
  • Have 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
  • Hold a current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Hold a valid U.S. passport and be able to travel internationally without restriction.
  • Be authorized to work in the U.S. and travel into and out of the country without restriction.
  • Be able to work varied hours, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Be highly flexible and able to adjust to rapid changes.
  • Manage rest to remain prepared for flight duty throughout the tour.
  • Be able to work duties lasting up to 14 hours per day for as many as eight days, across time zones and in extreme weather conditions.
  • Be able to spend seven or more days and nights away from home while on duty, staying in hotels.
  • Be able to obtain airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges and pass Transportation Security Administration background screening.
  • Hold a valid state driver's license.
  • Read, write, speak fluently, and understand English.
  • Be service-oriented, maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance, make a positive impression, and interact effectively with passengers.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Make quick, accurate decisions and demonstrate close attention to technical detail and passenger service.
  • Be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Be able to work around animals, including handling and caring for them before, during, and after Owner flights.
  • Be able to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Experience

Flight-time requirements: 1,500 hours total; alternatively, 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, 1,000 hours with a military pilot qualification, or 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate. Additional minimums include 200 cross-country hours, 250 fixed-wing PIC hours, 100 night-flying hours (or 75 hours with at least 45 night take-offs and landings), 75 instrument hours, and 50 fixed-wing multi-engine hours.
