Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary and pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a Pilot in Command for a Gulfstream G450 aircraft based at GYY airport in the Chicagoland area. This dedicated three-pilot account operates approximately 400 hours annually on Part 91 and Part 135 (internal) flights to international and domestic destinations. The successful candidate will ensure safe flight operations, deliver exceptional service to owners and passengers, and maintain full regulatory and company compliance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements
- Complete flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment
- Conduct Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefings to lead required crew briefings and mitigate operational risks
- Comply with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinate with company personnel; serve as Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator
- Complete all aircraft pre-flight tasks, monitor maintenance status, record aircraft discrepancies, and ensure mission capability
- Monitor and oversee all aircraft ground servicing items including fueling, oil, and oxygen
- Deliver passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation; provide exceptional customer service and accommodate special passenger needs
- Utilize Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) methodologies to communicate clearly with crew and support personnel during all operational phases
- Identify opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience and regularly investigate and resolve service deviations
- Collaborate with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure consistent service delivery
- Maintain regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience
- Comply with company SMS (Safety Management System) program and report safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels
Qualifications
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
- First Class Medical Certificate
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet
- Minimum 3,500 hours total flight time
- Minimum 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land (MEL)
- Minimum 2,000 hours Pilot in Command
- Minimum 500 hours PIC MEL
- Minimum 300 hours Instrument
- Minimum 500 hours Jet experience
- International flight experience required
Skills
Experience
4–6 years of aviation experience, with prior experience in corporate or business aviation strongly preferred. Gulfstream or similar midsize/super-midsize aircraft experience preferred.
Education
Completion of FAA ATP certification requirements and type-rating training for applicable fleet aircraft.
