NetJets Europe seeks an experienced in-house attorney in Paço de Arcos, Portugal to provide legal counsel on employment, contracts, and aviation compliance matters.
Role & Responsibilities
- Advise on employment matters, benefits administration, and collective bargaining agreements while ensuring full compliance with employment law and managing employment-related claims
- Assess legal risks and opportunities within labour and employment domains, providing strategic recommendations
- Conduct comprehensive review, analysis, and drafting of national and international supplier contracts
- Draft, revise, and maintain contract templates aligned with procurement requirements and regulatory compliance standards
- Provide legal support and guidance on supplier contract and regulatory compliance matters within the NetJets Europe Group
- Verify sales contracts and client documentation, conduct due diligence and reputational risk assessments, and liaise with the Sales team for final contract approval
- Review and amend sales contracts and letters of confirmation in accordance with sales requests and internal approvals
- Deliver training to the contracts team on legal requirements and compliance obligations related to sales contracts
- Manage aeronautical registration and aircraft documentation with the Portuguese Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC), including aircraft de-registration and ownership transfers
- Maintain and administer Aircraft Operator Certificates and ANAC/EASA compliance documentation
- Conduct regulatory research and prepare guidance materials on applicable legislation across NetJets' operational areas
- Execute litigation activities including negotiation, legal writing, advocacy, and counselling
- Establish and maintain corporate legal records, policy manuals, and reference materials
- Foster relationships and credibility with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams throughout the organization
Qualifications
- Legally qualified with minimum 5 years of bar admission
- Minimum 7 years of legal experience in private practice and/or in-house counsel role (in-house experience preferred)
- Solid expertise in employment law
- Demonstrated experience managing aircraft registration and aviation regulatory compliance matters
- Proficiency in contract management and commercial law
- Strong understanding of European employment legislation and international labour frameworks
Skills
Experience
6–8 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 5 years post-bar admission and at least 7 years in private practice and/or in-house legal counsel roles. Prior experience managing aviation regulatory matters and aircraft registration with civil aviation authorities is highly valued.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Law; bar admission in a European jurisdiction required.
