Executive Jet Management seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to maintain a Gulfstream 550 based in Miami, Florida, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections and repairs in compliance with applicable FARs. The role supports a two-pilot Part 135 account and requires 4–6 years of experience; preference is given to local candidates with G550 training and similar aircraft-size experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform or oversee and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, including engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, accessories such as brakes, valves, pumps, air-conditioning systems and seats, and other aircraft components as required.
- Repair and service hangar, shop and ground support equipment.
- Conduct inspections using precision instruments to measure parts for wear and use, comply with tool calibration requirements, and communicate inspections and calibrations to the EJM Fleet Department.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations, including hazardous waste management.
- Travel to airports to repair owner aircraft in Aircraft on Ground (AOG) status or arrange repairs through outside vendors; occasionally travel on owner aircraft for test flights, troubleshooting or at the owner's request.
- Coordinate aircraft release with the EJM Fleet Department.
- Perform receiving inspections on incoming parts and components to company standards.
- Maintain company-operated aircraft in a continuously airworthy condition in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), inspecting required items and performing troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on aircraft and components.
- Dismantle, repair and assemble machinery and mechanical devices, and exchange or replace electrical equipment and components.
- Support passenger welfare in all aspects of cabin safety and service; remain trained and proficient in relevant abnormal and emergency procedures, cabin systems and operations.
- Meet company safety, security and quality goals through ongoing compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS) and report recommendations or observations of non-compliance through the appropriate process.
Qualifications
- Ability to run and taxi owner aircraft.
- Ability to work on a lift platform from 3 to 40 feet above the ground as repair needs require.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods while performing repairs.
- Ability to operate tools including jacks, welders, torches, paint guns, sanders and a drill press.
- Ability to lift and move machine parts weighing up to 70 pounds from ground to equipment level, and maneuver an item weighing up to 125 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance.
- Ability to learn and use technical manuals; good mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving ability.
- Ability to communicate clearly and understandably, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform repairs effectively and quickly at short notice in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to input and retrieve information using computers.
- Ability to travel to repair locations in all weather conditions.
- Ability to perform receiving inspections to company standards.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools.
- Preference for local candidates with G550 training and experience on aircraft of similar size.
