Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve an assigned seating section with professional, gracious table service consistent with luxury standards.
  • Provide detailed menu guidance using thorough knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology.
  • Recommend and describe wine, beer and spirits, applying relevant service and technical procedures.
  • Operate the POS system and adhere to established accounting procedures for all transactions and payment methods.
  • Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and execute pre-shift, post-shift and daily/weekly duties as assigned.
  • Maintain restaurant and workstation cleanliness and uphold the highest hygiene and uniform standards.
  • Assist with room setup and light lifting (tables, chairs, highchairs) and follow safe handling procedures.
  • Coordinate scheduling, lunches and time-off with management and follow established timekeeping protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience serving food and beverage and following formal table service guidelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of order of service and correct placement of table settings (china, glass, flatware).
  • Working knowledge of food terminology and beverage service, including wine, beer and spirits.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs and lift/carry up to 35 pounds; flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

Experience serving food and beverage in a restaurant or luxury retail dining environment is required; familiarity with formal table service and beverage service procedures preferred.
