Role & Responsibilities
- Perform precision alterations, resizing and restyling on a wide range of apparel to meet Neiman Marcus quality standards equal to or better than original construction.
- Alter seams (vented and unvented), adjust shoulders and chest, rotate and shorten sleeves, shorten backs and collars, and square shoulders.
- Shorten and reline coats; refit or remake inside and outside pockets when required.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot sewing machines and associated tailoring equipment to ensure safe, efficient production.
- Self‑inspect completed work to ensure conformity with quality standards and complete alterations assigned by Supervisor/Lead.
- Interpret and execute written and verbal instructions from Managers, Supervisors or Leads in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend English instructions from management and colleagues.
- Proficiency with basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) for measurements and alterations.
- Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment with exposure to diverse garment styles and fabric types (preferred).
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing finished work that meets luxury retail standards.
- Reliability and ability to follow directions from management and leads.

Experience
Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment is preferred, with demonstrated exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabrications; on‑the‑job training acceptable for skilled candidates.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational training or certification in tailoring, garment construction, or sewing technology is advantageous.
