Neiman Marcus is hiring a Tailor / Fitter in Coral Gables, FL. Onsite, full‑time role — hourly $30.53–$38.17. Apply for an alterations specialist position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform precision alterations and resizing to meet or exceed Neiman Marcus quality standards across a wide range of garments.
- Alter seams (vented and unvented), take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders and perform sleeve rotations and shortenings.
- Shorten backs and collars, square shoulders, shorten coats, re-line coats, and reconstruct or remake inside/outside pockets as required.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot all sewing and pressing equipment used in the alterations workshop.
- Self-inspect completed work to ensure adherence to quality and fit standards prior to delivery to client.
- Complete alteration assignments and related tasks as directed by Supervisor, Lead or Manager.
- Read and interpret written and oral instructions related to fit, construction and client requests.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment preferred.
- Proven ability to operate and maintain industrial sewing machines and associated equipment.
- Proficiency in reading English and following written and verbal instructions.
- Basic arithmetic skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide measurements and units.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering luxury-level garment finish and fit.
Skills
Experience
Previous experience in retail tailoring, dry‑cleaner tailoring departments, couture alterations or an industrial sewing environment with exposure to varied garment styles and fabrics is preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational training or certification in tailoring, garment construction or fashion technology advantageous.

The successful candidate will be located in Coral Gables, Florida, USA, with easy access to Miami.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 30.53 to USD 38.17 per hour.
