Role & Responsibilities
- Execute precision alterations, resizing and restyling to meet or exceed Neiman Marcus garment construction standards.
- Alter seams (vented and unvented), take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders, rotate and shorten sleeves, shorten backs and collars, and square shoulders as required.
- Shorten and re-line coats; remake or repair inside and outside pockets.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot all sewing equipment and industrial sewing machines.
- Self-inspect completed work to ensure conformity with quality standards before delivery.
- Complete alteration assignments as directed by Supervisor, Lead or Manager and interpret written and oral instructions accurately.
Qualifications
- Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment with exposure to diverse garment styles and fabric types is preferred.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions in English.
- Basic numeracy skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure for accurate alterations.

Prior experience in a tailoring or industrial sewing environment is preferred; demonstrated familiarity with alterations on a range of garment types and fabrics is desirable.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational training or certificate in tailoring, sewing or garment construction is advantageous.
