Neiman Marcus — Store Site Engineer in Bal Harbour, FL. Onsite role; hourly pay $27.17–$33.98; responsible for HVAC, electrical and building systems maintenance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance across building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, vertical transportation, boilers and generators.
- Conduct and log daily, weekly and monthly safety inspections and preventive maintenance activities for facility equipment and building envelope.
- Maintain and/or coordinate building energy management systems, including lighting controls via Trane Ensemble Software.
- Troubleshoot and repair store infrastructure and support systems (e.g., POS and telephone systems) to minimize operational downtime.
- Order and manage maintenance supplies, track expenditures and assist the Regional Manager with maintenance expense accounts and capital project execution.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialty repairs, service calls and capital work; ensure compliance with safety and store standards.
- Respond to after‑hours emergency calls and provide on‑call support during peak retail periods (limited time off between Black Friday and January 8).
- Support kitchen equipment maintenance and other site‑specific assets as required.
Qualifications
- Vocational school certificate or college degree with focus in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
- Two to five years of relevant experience, or four years of apprenticeship or equivalent hands‑on experience in mechanical/electrical/maintenance trades.
- Demonstrated competence in building maintenance disciplines: electrical, HVAC, plumbing and vertical transportation.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, perform repeated bending and reaching, and use ladders safely.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with peers, management, contractors and vendors.
- Working knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safe handling procedures for hazardous materials.

Experience
Two to five years of hands‑on experience in mechanical or electrical trades, or completion of a four‑year apprenticeship; demonstrable experience maintaining commercial building systems in a retail or institutional environment.
Education
Degree or certificate from a vocational school or college with emphasis in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
