Neiman Marcus (Northbrook, IL) seeks a full-time Server for the Neiman Marcus Cafe. Hourly $20.12–$25.15. Onsite role delivering elevated table and beverage service.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide gracious, attentive table service for an assigned dining section, consistently adhering to Neiman Marcus service standards.
- Describe menu items accurately using culinary terminology and relay special requests to kitchen staff.
- Execute beverage service including wine, beer and spirits with proper technical and service procedures.
- Operate and reconcile transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system and follow established accounting/payment protocols.
- Participate in pre-shift briefings and complete pre-shift, post-shift and daily assigned duties.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant and personal workstation, upholding strict hygiene standards.
- Follow scheduling procedures, clock in/out accurately, and coordinate time-off with management to meet restaurant needs.
- Perform physical tasks as required, including lifting tables, chairs and items up to 35 pounds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience serving food and beverage with knowledge of formal table service and proper placement of china, glassware and flatware.
- Working knowledge of food preparation terminology and beverage service (including wine) technicalities.
- Exceptional customer service, multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Capable of standing, bending, climbing stairs and lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds; maintains high standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance.

Experience
Demonstrable experience in restaurant or upscale food & beverage service, with proficiency in formal table service and beverage presentation.
Education
High school diploma or GED preferred.
