The Retail Operations Manager drives store performance, profitability and customer experience while overseeing operational standards, inventory, fulfillment, staffing and team development at a Neiman Marcus store. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Retail Performance and Store Operations and offers a salary range of $71,224–$89,030 annually.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive store operational performance to maximize sales and profitability, executing the Operational Excellence strategy to improve efficiency, productivity, profitability and the customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and directives for Operations, Loss Prevention, Finance, Accounting and other functions.
- Oversee daily store operations, including merchandise handling, transfers, pricing, inbound and outbound freight, fulfillment, packing and shipping of online and in-store orders, and inventory control and accuracy.
- Train teams on process optimization standards and implement and sustain those standards.
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Retail Performance and Store Operations, to manage support-team labor, scheduling and staffing.
- Adjust resources, processes and priorities to maximize operational efficiency and the customer experience.
- Maintain stockroom organization standards and support salesfloor replenishment.
- Collaborate with Sales Managers and Visual teams to direct associates on merchandising and sale setup and signage, ensuring standards are followed.
- Partner with Brand Experience, Visual and Sales leaders to set up and take down in-store events and activations.
- Manage direct-team performance and train and coach associates on operational procedures, processes and productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of relevant experience; luxury fashion retail experience preferred.
- Four-year degree preferred.
- Proven track record of achieving business results.
- Experience leading, motivating and coaching teams to achieve objectives.
- Advanced business acumen and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a “win together” mentality.
- Basic proficiency with the MS Office Product Suite; advanced proficiency preferred.
- Certain roles may require standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
