Role & Responsibilities

• Serve an assigned dining-area section in a professional and gracious manner.
• Use knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology to provide customers with detailed menu information.
• Apply knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including technical and service procedures.
• Interact graciously with the public while handling multiple duties simultaneously.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
• Follow established accounting procedures for transactions, including authorized payment methods, and maintain knowledge of the POS system.
• Complete pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform duties that may require lifting objects such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
• Clean and maintain the restaurant and workstation.
• Maintain high hygiene standards, including clean, pressed uniform clothing and shoes, and clean, professionally styled hair and nails that avoid food-contamination risks.
• Maintain integrity in scheduling, clock in before and out after every scheduled shift, follow procedures for schedule and shift changes, and take and record applicable lunch breaks.
• Coordinate holidays, vacation, and other time off with management while considering restaurant needs.

Qualifications

• Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table-service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated and results-driven.
• Thorough knowledge of service sequence and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverages as indicated by the kitchen ticket and guidebook.
• Thorough knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology.
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties simultaneously.
• Exceptional customer-service and problem-solving skills.
• A “win together” mentality.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Skills

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred.
