Role & Responsibilities
- Serve assigned seating section of dining area with professionalism and grace, adhering to established order of service and table setting standards
- Provide detailed information about menu items, demonstrating thorough knowledge of food preparation, culinary terminology, wine, beer, and spirits offerings
- Manage point-of-sale transactions accurately and maintain knowledge of all authorized payment methods and accounting procedures
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and execute assigned pre-shift, post-shift, and routine weekly duties
- Maintain rigorous hygiene and presentation standards, including uniform appearance, grooming, and personal hygiene consistent with food service requirements
- Execute lifting, carrying, and physical duties involving restaurant furnishings and equipment; perform standing, bending, and stair-climbing tasks as required
- Coordinate scheduling changes and time-off requests with management while considering operational needs
- Clean and maintain assigned workstation and dining areas to established standards
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Demonstrated experience in food and beverage service with knowledge of proper table service guidelines and order of service
- Thorough knowledge of food preparation, culinary terminology, and table setting protocols (placement of china, glassware, and flatware)
- Ability to interact graciously with diverse clientele while managing multiple concurrent duties
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly
- Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Skills
Experience
Experience in serving food and beverage in a fine dining or upscale hospitality setting, with demonstrated proficiency in following proper table service guidelines and managing multiple tables simultaneously.
Education
High School diploma or GED preferred.
