Neiman Marcus seeks a Restaurant Server Assistant to maintain exceptional dining room service standards at its luxury retail locations. The role encompasses table maintenance, food and beverage delivery, beverage service, and coordination with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure guests receive the premium hospitality experience consistent with the Neiman Marcus brand. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain table setup in dining rooms, including clearing and resetting tables according to service standards
- Deliver popovers, butter, and water to guests
- Deliver food and beverages to guests as indicated by kitchen tickets
- Maintain bus station and beverage areas
- Assist waitstaff with service needs, including refilling beverages and running food from kitchen to dining room
- Set up dining room with essential items including coffee, iced tea, and ice
- Restock glasses, flatware, and linens throughout service
- Support kitchen and service staff with additional customer requests and expediter station setup
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and execute assigned pre-shift, post-shift, and weekly duties
- Lift, move, and arrange furniture and equipment as needed
- Maintain highest hygiene standards and keep restaurant and workstation clean and organized
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in food and beverage service and knowledge of proper table service guidelines
- Thorough knowledge of proper placement of china, glass, and flatware for table settings
- Understanding of order of service and table setting protocols
- Thorough knowledge of food preparation and culinary terminology
- Ability to interact graciously with guests and handle multiple duties simultaneously
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously and maintain a team mentality
Skills
Experience
Experience in serving food and beverage in a hospitality environment with demonstrated knowledge of proper table service guidelines and dining protocols.
Education
High School diploma or GED preferred.
