Role & Responsibilities

• Maintains tables in the dining room by clearing and resetting them.
• Delivers popovers and butter, pours water, and serves food and beverages to guests according to kitchen tickets.
• Maintains the bus station and beverage areas.
• Learns table numbers and dining room sections.
• Assists kitchen and service staff with service needs, including customer requests, restocking plates, bagging to-go orders, and setting up the expediter station.
• Supports waitstaff by refilling beverages and running food from the kitchen to the dining room as needed.
• Sets up the dining room with key items, including coffee, iced tea, and ice.
• Restocks glasses, flatware, and linens in the dining room.
• Participates in daily pre-shift meetings.
• Completes pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Lifts and moves objects such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
• Cleans and maintains the restaurant and workstation.
• Maintains high hygiene standards, including clean, pressed uniform clothing and shoes and clean, professionally styled hair and nails kept to avoid food-contamination risks.
• Reports to the work area appropriately dressed and prepared, with supplies and equipment needed to perform duties.

Qualifications

• Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table-service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated and results-driven.
• Knowledge of proper placement of china, glassware, and flatware for table settings.
• Thorough knowledge of service sequence and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverages according to kitchen tickets and the guidebook.
• Thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology.
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and manage multiple duties simultaneously.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
• A “win together” mentality.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Skills

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred.
