The Restaurant Server Assistant maintains dining-room setups and supports food and beverage service to Neiman Marcus guests, including table maintenance, deliveries, restocking, and service-staff assistance. This is a seasonal, part-time position paying $10 per hour.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintains dining-room tables by clearing and resetting them.
- Delivers popovers and butter, pours water, and serves food and beverages to guests according to kitchen tickets.
- Maintains the bus station and beverage areas.
- Learns dining-area table numbers and sections.
- Supports kitchen and service staff with guest requests, plate restocking, bagging takeaway orders, and setting up the expeditor station.
- Assists waitstaff with service needs, refills beverages, and runs food from the kitchen to the dining room as needed.
- Sets up the dining room with key items, including coffee, iced tea, and ice.
- Restocks glasses, flatware, and linens in the dining room.
- Participates in daily pre-shift meetings.
- Completes assigned pre-shift, post-shift, daily, and weekly duties.
- Lifts and moves items such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
- Cleans and maintains the restaurant and workstation.
- Maintains high hygiene standards, including wearing a clean, pressed uniform jacket and accompanying clothing and shoes, and keeping hair and nails clean and professionally styled to avoid food-contamination risks.
- Reports to the work area appropriately dressed and ready to work with the supplies and equipment needed to perform job duties.
Qualifications
- Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table-service guidelines.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Motivated and results-driven.
- Knowledge of proper placement of china, glassware, and flatware for table settings.
- Thorough knowledge of the order of service and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverages as indicated by kitchen tickets and the guidebook.
- Thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology.
- Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties simultaneously.
- Exceptional customer-service and problem-solving skills.
- A “win together” mentality.
- Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is USD 10 per hour.
