Neiman Marcus seeks a Restaurant Host to provide gracious service at the point-of-entry for the in-house dining establishment. The successful candidate will greet and seat customers, manage reservations through the OpenTable platform, coordinate seating to optimize table turnover, and maintain the professional presentation and cleanliness standards expected in a luxury retail dining environment. The role requires proficiency with point-of-sale systems, strong communication, and the ability to balance multiple duties in a fast-paced setting.

Role & Responsibilities

• Greet and seat customers with warmth and professionalism, maintaining an inviting host stand presence
• Manage and organize reservations via OpenTable, including VIP bookings and special requests
• Monitor server performance and flow of service to ensure optimal dining experience
• Optimize seating arrangements and table assignments based on server stations and customer traffic
• Answer telephone inquiries regarding hours, specials, events, and reservation availability with proper etiquette
• Process transactions using the POS system while adhering to established accounting procedures and authorized payment methods
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation of all menus and dining materials
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and follow established scheduling procedures
• Perform light physical tasks including arranging and lifting furniture and equipment (up to 35 pounds)
• Uphold food safety and personal hygiene standards, including proper uniform and appearance maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Proficiency with OpenTable reservation platform
• Knowledge of POS systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and multitask effectively
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities
• Physical capacity to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 35 pounds
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

Experience

Prior experience in hospitality, food service, or retail customer-facing roles is advantageous, though not explicitly required. Demonstrated success in high-volume service environments is preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 20.79 to USD 25.99 per hour.
