Neiman Marcus seeks a Restaurant Host in Coral Gables to greet and seat customers with exceptional service in a luxury retail dining environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Greet and seat customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner at the host stand
- Handle reservation bookings through the OpenTable platform, including VIP reservations and inquiries regarding hours of operation, specials, and events
- Monitor server performance to ensure seamless service during customers' dining experiences
- Organize seating arrangements to maximize capacity during operating hours while maintaining optimal wait station distribution
- Observe proper telephone etiquette when fielding calls and managing customer inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation of menus and menu covers
- Ensure adherence to all accounting procedures and maintain proficiency with the POS system for authorized payment methods
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and contribute to team coordination
- Maintain the highest hygiene standards including proper uniform presentation, grooming, and food safety practices
- Execute duties involving physical tasks such as moving tables, chairs, and highchairs as needed
- Adhere to the posted work schedule and follow established procedures for schedule changes
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Proficiency with OpenTable reservation platform
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple duties simultaneously while maintaining composure
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving capabilities
- Physical ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
Skills
Experience
Hospitality service experience preferred; prior restaurant hosting or front-of-house experience is advantageous.
Education
High School diploma or GED preferred
