Neiman Marcus seeks an experienced Restaurant Cook to support culinary operations at its luxury retail restaurant. The Cook will produce and coordinate food preparation for daily menus and special events while managing inventory costs and maintaining stringent health and sanitation standards. This role requires expertise in coordinating kitchen production, communicating with front-of-house associates, and contributing to the seamless guest experience in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Produce and coordinate food items for daily restaurant menus and special events while controlling waste through build-to sheets and production planning
- Maintain daily and weekly inventory levels and communicate supply needs to supervisors and head kitchen staff
- Verify special orders and ensure accurate production to meet guest specifications
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with all health codes and sanitation standards
- Inspect and report equipment malfunctions promptly to designated associates
- Coordinate communication with front-of-house associates to maintain efficient order flow throughout service
- Close and sanitize work areas according to health department regulations and prepare items for the following day's production
- Uphold all health and sanitation protocols as directed by Neiman Marcus, local health departments, and third-party sanitation auditors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of professional cooking or food preparation experience
- Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift/carry up to 35 pounds regularly
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset
