The Jewelry Operations Associate supports operational functions of Neiman Marcus’s Jewelry Department under the direction of the Jewelry Selling Manager, including merchandise processing, inventory maintenance, repairs, trunk shows, and coordination with the Corporate Buying Team. This is a full-time role with benefits for eligible employees.
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and book jewelry in accordance with company standards; photocopy fine jewelry and reconcile purchase order issues with the buying office.
- Enter received merchandise into the case count system.
- Retrieve and process merchandise returns to vendors and transfers in accordance with company standards, including packing items properly and obtaining tracking numbers for outbound shipments.
- Maintain a repair log, check merchandise in and out, and track repairs sent to vendors or local shops.
- Submit repair invoices with appropriate documentation to Accounts Payable.
- Receive trunk-show merchandise and verify the quantity and condition of pieces against the manifest.
- Assist with trunk-show setup and breakdown, compile results, and recap trunk-show business.
- Complete case counts and reconcile all discrepancies.
- Reticket merchandise without tickets, including returns and items with unreadable tags.
- Prepare special-order requests and submit them to buyers.
- Assist the Selling Manager and associates on the selling floor as needed.
- Ensure the department is stocked with supplies.
- Carry out other store initiatives assigned by management and additional ad hoc responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to quickly learn systems, jewelry standards, and IT applications.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
