The Jewelry Operations Associate supports Neiman Marcus’s Jewelry Department operations, including merchandise processing, inventory and case counts, repairs, vendor transactions, and trunk shows, while assisting the sales floor as needed. This is a full-time role; compensation varies by location, experience, and other job-related factors.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support operational functions of the Jewelry Department, including processing new merchandise, vendor returns and transfers, repairs, trunk shows, daily case counts, inventory maintenance, and special communications with the Corporate Buying Team.
- Receive, verify, and book jewelry according to company standards; photocopy all fine jewelry and reconcile purchase order issues with the buying office.
- Enter received merchandise into the case count system.
- Retrieve and process merchandise for vendor returns or transfers according to company standards, pack it properly, and obtain tracking numbers for outbound shipments.
- Maintain a repair log, check merchandise in and out, and track repairs sent to vendors or local shops.
- Submit repair invoices with supporting documentation to Accounts Payable.
- Receive trunk show merchandise and verify piece counts and condition against the manifest.
- Assist with trunk show setup and takedown, compile results, and recap trunk show business.
- Complete case counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Reticket merchandise without tickets, including returns and items with unreadable tags.
- Prepare special-order requests and submit them to buyers.
- Assist the Selling Manager and associates on the sales floor as needed.
- Keep the department stocked with supplies.
- Carry out other store initiatives assigned by management and ad hoc responsibilities as needed.
