Neiman Marcus in Garden City, NY seeks a Jewelry Operations Associate to manage receiving, repairs, inventory and trunk-show logistics.
Role & Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, photograph and book incoming fine jewelry in accordance with company standards and reconcile any purchase-order discrepancies with the buying office.
- Enter merchandise into the case count system and ensure daily case counts are completed and all discrepancies reconciled.
- Process returns to vendor and internal transfers: prepare, pack, and obtain tracking for outbound shipments per company procedures.
- Maintain detailed repair logs; check merchandise in/out, track repairs sent to vendors or local shops, and submit repair invoices with supporting documentation to Accounts Payable.
- Coordinate trunk-show logistics: receive and verify manifests, assist with set-up and take-down, compile results and prepare business recaps.
- Reticket merchandise lacking readable tags and prepare special-order requests for submission to buyers.
- Support the Selling Manager and sales associates on the sales floor as needed and ensure departmental supplies and operational needs are maintained.
- Execute ad hoc store initiatives and other operational duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to learn inventory systems, jewelry standards and relevant IT applications quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling high-value merchandise.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple operational tasks simultaneously.
- Professional communication skills for interaction with vendors, buying teams and internal stakeholders.

Experience
Preferably 1+ year of retail operations, inventory control, or jewelry department experience; experience with luxury merchandise handling and vendor coordination is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
