Role & Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and provide general upkeep for systems in the retail store, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, dock doors, lighting, generators, flush valves, and faucets.
• Perform weekly preventive maintenance on building equipment and the building envelope, and log safety inspections daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Inspect facility equipment, including vertical transportation systems, boilers, generators, and HVAC.
• Order maintenance supplies and assist the Regional Manager with maintenance expense accounts.
• Assist the Regional Manager with capital planning projects.
• Maintain or coordinate building energy management systems, including lighting, using Trane Ensemble Software.
• Support store Point of Sale (POS) and telephone systems.
• Provide support for kitchen equipment as required.
• Respond to after-hours and emergency calls; work overtime as required.
• Work with limited time off between Black Friday and January 8.

Qualifications

• Degree from a vocational school or college focused on the mechanical or electrical field.
• Background in building maintenance, electrical work, and HVAC.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and self-prioritize work assignments.
• Ability to work independently and with others, and to take initiative.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, lift, and reach below the waist and above the head regularly, and climb ladders.
• Effective written and verbal communication with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.
• Understanding and knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Highly self-motivated and customer-centric.

Skills

Experience

Two to five years of experience, or four years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience, in the mechanical or electrical field.

Education

Degree from a vocational school or college focused on the mechanical or electrical field.
