Neiman Marcus Facilities Engineer role in Bergen, NJ: maintain luxury retail building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing. $31.26–$39.07/hr, full-time.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly preventive maintenance on all building equipment and systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, dock doors, lighting, generators, flush valves, and faucets
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections and maintain detailed logging of facility equipment inspections, including vertical transportation, boilers, generators, and HVAC systems
  • Maintain and coordinate all building energy management systems, including lighting controls, through Trane Ensemble Software
  • Order maintenance supplies and assist the Regional Manager in managing maintenance expense accounts
  • Provide technical support for Point of Sale (POS) and telephone systems
  • Support kitchen equipment maintenance as required
  • Assist Regional Manager with execution of capital planning and facility improvement projects
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls and provide on-call support; work overtime and limited time off between Black Friday and January 8 as needed

Qualifications

  • Degree from vocational school or college with focus in Mechanical or Electrical field, or equivalent apprenticeship or work experience
  • Two to five years of professional experience in mechanical or electrical building maintenance, or four years of recognized apprenticeship
  • Demonstrated expertise in building maintenance, electrical systems, and HVAC troubleshooting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and ladder climbing
  • Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) information and safety compliance requirements

Experience

Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in Mechanical or Electrical field, or equivalent trade certification and apprenticeship completion.
