Role & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the dishwashing machine, ensuring chemical levels are correct and reporting malfunctions to management.
- Wash, sort and organize pots, pans, dishes, flatware and glassware to maintain a continuous service flow in a high-volume kitchen.
- Maintain dish, trash and floor areas to the highest health, safety and sanitation standards, including use of approved sanitizing materials and chemical testers.
- Monitor and remove trash as needed; keep work areas stocked with cleaning solutions and organized for efficient service.
- Assist with kitchen preparation and additional cleaning tasks as required; exercise care when handling breakables.
- Collaborate professionally with line cooks, chefs and front-of-house staff to support timely food and beverage service.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow Health Department and internal sanitation protocols; familiarity with sanitizing agents and chemical testing preferred.
- Capable of standing for long periods, bending, climbing stairs and lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds safely.
- Reliable availability including evenings, weekends and holidays as business needs dictate.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented, collaborative mindset and the ability to work autonomously when required.
- Effective communication and professional conduct in a fast-paced, team-driven kitchen environment.

Experience
Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen or back-of-house role preferred but not required; on-the-job training is typically provided.
