Neiman Marcus is hiring an Asset Protection Investigator in Oak Brook, IL — onsite role focused on investigations, surveillance and incident reporting.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain the general safety of customers, employees and the store through proactive presence and intervention
- Conduct monitoring and surveillance to detect indicators of internal and external theft, fraud and suspicious activity
- Perform external and internal investigations, documenting findings and evidence in accordance with company procedures
- Prepare and complete incident reports for theft, recoveries, accidents and audit findings; maintain accurate case files
- Support inventory-loss reduction initiatives through audits, training and compliance checks
- Assess and assist with emergency situations and coordinate responses with store leadership and emergency services
- Participate in and support store operations programmes that protect people, product and profit
Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ year experience in loss prevention, asset protection or related investigative role
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance service and security priorities
- Proven verbal and written communication skills; experience preparing formal incident reports
- Investigative, surveillance and conflict-management capabilities
- Basic proficiency with computer software and systems used for reporting and case management
- Adaptability to respond to changing priorities and unexpected situations

Experience
At least one year of practical experience in loss prevention, asset protection, retail investigations or a closely related security discipline, preferably within a retail environment.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional post-secondary coursework, law enforcement background, or professional training in investigations or security preferred.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 22.61 to USD 28.26 per hour.
