Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain the general safety of customers, employees and the store through visible presence and proactive interventions
- Assess and assist during emergency situations, coordinating with store leadership and external responders as required
- Conduct monitoring and surveillance to detect indicators of internal or external theft, fraud or suspicious activity
- Perform external and internal investigations and document loss prevention incidents thoroughly and accurately
- Prepare and complete incident reports covering thefts, merchandise recoveries, accidents and audit findings
- Reduce inventory loss through audits, training and collaboration with store teams
- Support and participate in store operations programs to align loss-prevention objectives with sales and service goals
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1+ year experience in loss prevention, asset protection or retail security
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to balance service and security
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Basic proficiency with computer software to complete reports and audits
- Demonstrated investigative ability and conflict-management skills
- Adaptability to respond to changing direction and unexpected situations
Skills
Experience
At least 1 year of loss prevention, asset protection, or retail security experience; prior retail experience is preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary coursework or security/loss-prevention certification is desirable.
