Neiman Marcus Denver seeks a Tailor (Alterations Associate). In‑store alterations role; hourly pay $29.48–$36.86.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform high‑quality alterations and restyling of luxury garments to Neiman Marcus standards, matching or exceeding original construction.
- Execute a broad range of alteration techniques (e.g., altering seams, rotating and shortening sleeves, narrowing shoulders, shortening collars and backs, shortening and re‑lining coats, remaking pockets).
- Assess fit and structural quality; assist fitters to achieve desired garment fit and alterability.
- Operate, troubleshoot and maintain all sewing equipment and machinery used in the alterations workshop.
- Self‑inspect completed work to ensure consistency with brand quality standards and complete alteration tasks assigned by Supervisor/Lead/Manager.
- Interpret and act on written and oral instructions; prioritize and complete assignments within production timelines.
Qualifications
- Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment preferred, with exposure to varied garment styles and fabrications.
- Ability to read and comprehend written and spoken English to follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Proficiency with standard arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and measurements used in garment alteration.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity and a commitment to delivering precision finishing consistent with luxury standards.
Skills
Experience
Prior experience in tailoring, garment alterations or an industrial sewing environment is preferred. Candidates should have worked with a variety of fabrics and garment constructions and demonstrate consistent quality in finished alterations.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
