Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct professional alterations, resizing, and restyling of luxury apparel merchandise, maintaining quality standards equal to or exceeding original construction
- Execute complex seam work including venting, shoulder blade adjustments, chest reduction, and shoulder narrowing on garments
- Perform sleeve and collar modifications including rotation, shortening, and squaring of shoulders
- Complete specialized tailoring tasks such as coat shortening, relining, and pocket remake on both interior and exterior seams
- Operate and maintain all sewing equipment to professional standards
- Conduct self-inspection of completed alterations work to ensure adherence to Neiman Marcus quality benchmarks
- Collaborate with fitters to assess garment fit, alterability, and structural integrity of merchandise
- Interpret and execute written and oral instructions from supervisors, managers, and leads with accuracy
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tailoring operations or industrial sewing environments
- Demonstrated expertise with diverse garment styles and fabric types
- Proficiency in reading English and comprehending verbal instructions
- Competence in mathematical calculations across all units of measure
- Ability to self-inspect work against established quality standards
