Role & Responsibilities
- Perform professional alterations, resizing and restyling of apparel to meet or exceed Neiman Marcus quality standards.
- Alter seams (vented and unvented), adjust shoulders and chest, rotate and shorten sleeves, shorten collars and backs, and rework coat construction including re‑lining and pocket replacement.
- Operate, maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on all sewing and related equipment.
- Self‑inspect completed garments to ensure finish, fit and construction meet specifications.
- Execute alteration assignments as directed by Supervisor, Lead or Manager and interpret written and oral instructions accurately.
Qualifications
- Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment preferred; exposure to varied garment styles and fabrics advantageous.
- Ability to read and comprehend English instructions provided verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency with garment measurements and basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in relevant units of measure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality finishes.

Experience
Previous experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment is preferred; experience across multiple fabric types and garment constructions is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational training or certifications in tailoring, garment construction or sewing technology beneficial.
