Neiman Marcus (Las Vegas) seeks an Alterations Associate — hourly $25.64–$32.05; tailoring experience and sewing-machine proficiency preferred.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform precise alterations, resizing and restyling of garments to meet Neiman Marcus quality standards, equal to or better than original construction.
- Alter seams (vented or unvented), adjust shoulders and chest, rotate and shorten sleeves, shorten backs and collars, and square shoulders.
- Shorten and re-line coats; repair or remake inside and outside pockets as required.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot sewing equipment and industrial sewing machines to ensure reliable production.
- Self-inspect completed work to ensure finished garments meet quality and fit expectations.
- Complete assigned alteration tasks as directed by Supervisor, Lead or Manager and interpret written and oral instructions accurately.
Qualifications
- Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment preferred, with exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabrics.
- Ability to read English and follow written and verbal directions from Manager, Supervisor or Lead.
- Competency in basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and measurements in all applicable units of measure.
