Role & Responsibilities
- Perform expert alterations, tailoring and finishing on a broad range of garments to meet brand standards for fit, quality and presentation.
- Conduct client fittings, advise on structural changes and recommend alterations to achieve the desired silhouette and wearability.
- Operate industrial and domestic sewing equipment safely and efficiently to complete alterations on schedule.
- Maintain an orderly, secure and clean work area; handle garments with care and ensure accurate labeling and tracking of alteration orders.
- Coordinate with sales associates and store management to prioritize work, meet deadlines and support customer service objectives.
- Manage alterations workflow and documentation to ensure timely completion and quality control.
Qualifications
- Vocational or technical training in alterations, tailoring or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in an alterations operation, tailoring shop or industrial sewing environment; experience as a sewing machine operator required.
- Solid knowledge of fabric properties, garment construction techniques and professional sewing methods.
- Demonstrated ability to perform precise fittings and translate client requests into technically accurate alterations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship and consistent finish.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritise multiple alteration orders while meeting service-level expectations.
- Customer-service orientation with effective verbal communication and collaborative skills when working with sales teams and clients.
