Neiman Marcus in Dallas, TX seeks an Alterations Associate to perform luxury garment alterations. Pay $25.64–$32.05/hr.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform precision alterations and structural repairs on luxury apparel to meet or exceed original construction standards.
  • Alter seams (vented and unvented), adjust shoulders and chest, rotate and shorten sleeves, shorten backs and collars, and square shoulders.
  • Shorten and re-line coats, reconstruct pockets, and execute other complex tailoring tasks as required.
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot industrial sewing machines and related equipment; perform hand-finishing where required.
  • Self-inspect completed work to ensure consistent quality and conformance to brand standards.
  • Work collaboratively with fitters and sales associates to support customer fittings and alteration scheduling.
  • Interpret written and verbal instructions from Manager, Supervisor or Lead and complete assigned alterations tasks promptly.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, with exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabrics (preferred).
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English.
  • Proficiency with standard arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) for measurements and alteration calculations.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to self-inspect finished work to luxury-quality standards.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work onsite in a retail store environment.

Experience
