Role & Responsibilities
- Perform expert alterations and tailoring on a variety of garments to company standards, ensuring fit, finish and structural integrity.
- Conduct client fittings and provide professional recommendations on adjustments to achieve the desired look and fit.
- Operate sewing machines and alteration equipment safely and efficiently to complete alterations on schedule.
- Manage the alterations workflow, track job status and meet promised delivery deadlines while upholding quality expectations.
- Collaborate with sales associates and store management to prioritize customer needs and support remote selling or in-store services.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle merchandise with meticulous attention to care and presentation.
Qualifications
- Vocational training or formal coursework in alterations, tailoring or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in an alterations operation, couture studio or industrial sewing environment with diverse garment exposure.
- Proven experience operating commercial sewing machines and familiarity with alteration tools and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction and appropriate sewing methods for different textiles.
