Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills seeks an Alterations Associate to perform luxury garment fittings and tailoring (hourly $20.19–$22.12).
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct precise customer fittings and recommend appropriate alteration solutions to achieve optimal fit and finish for luxury garments.
- Execute a broad range of alterations on high-end merchandise, including hemming, taking in/out, and complex garment reconstruction.
- Operate and maintain standard sewing, pressing and spotting equipment as well as specialty machinery during production and fittings.
- Apply technical expertise to make alteration decisions during customer fittings and to advise clients on garment care and fit.
- Follow all store and alterations workroom policies and procedures, ensuring a clean, safe and compliant work environment.
- Deliver consistently high levels of customer service to cultivate long-term client relationships and repeat business.
- Meet individual productivity and performance targets while supporting department and store initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc tailoring and workshop responsibilities as required to support peak demand and special projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional fitting and tailoring experience working with high-end or designer merchandise.
- Proven ability to fit and alter a wide range of garments to luxury standards of construction and presentation.
- Technical experience with specialty techniques such as beading, fine tailoring, leather, knits and double-face fabrics is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency using both standard sewing equipment and specialty machines.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Requires a minimum of three years' hands-on tailoring and fitting experience within a high-end retail or bespoke environment, with demonstrable experience working on luxury fabrics and complex garment constructions.
Education
