The Training Manager for Montblanc in New Delhi analyzes retail and wholesale capabilities, develops and delivers locally relevant training, and measures learning impact and return on investment. The role partners with sales and boutique leaders to support commercial objectives, client experience and team development.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assess local retail and wholesale teams’ skill levels.
  • Evaluate ongoing training efforts and KPIs to measure the impact of training and coaching.
  • Assess competitors’ client experience, service and product offering.
  • Identify training trends and needs in the markets.
  • Develop pragmatic training action plans based on analysis and aligned with sales and service objectives.
  • Use the training budget optimally.
  • Align with internal and external partners to create mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Develop training modules adapted to local needs and strategy, including product and brand training, customer service training, coaching plans, tools to monitor and improve training results after sessions and in boutiques, and best practices.
  • Deploy training modules directly and indirectly to target audiences in a manner consistent with Montblanc.
  • Deliver special training to support marketing activities, including Train the Trainer.
  • Coach in line with Sales and Boutique Managers’ strategies and team development needs.
  • Monitor quantitative and qualitative training results over the short and long term.
  • Ensure return on investment for all training.
  • Share progress feedback and recommendations for further action with relevant partners.
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching.
  • Share and develop best practices.
  • Align and partner with Area Sales Managers, Boutique Managers, Regional Trainers and the Training Team.
  • Achieve wholesale business objectives.
  • Achieve retail sales targets and business objectives.
  • Achieve client survey and Mystery Shopping targets.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a luxury retail environment, with boutique and/or learning and development experience.
  • Experience in coaching and people development.
  • Experience training other trainers.
  • Commercial mindset and focus on client experience.
  • Understanding of clienteling and relationship building.
  • Fluent English; local languages are a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team.
  • Comfort with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Comfort with numerical analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with retail KPIs and analysis, with proven results through training.
  • Strategic mindset.
  • Strong planning and time-management skills.
  • Agile, flexible and adaptable.
  • Experience in the leather goods and watch markets is beneficial.
