Montblanc is hiring a Quality Engineer in Hamburg to oversee product and supplier quality for luxury writing instruments and leather goods.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define, implement and maintain product quality standards for writing instruments, leather goods and accessories across development and production phases.
- Develop and execute inspection plans, sampling protocols and control techniques to ensure conformity to Montblanc specifications.
- Lead supplier quality activities including supplier audits, incoming inspection strategies, qualification of new suppliers and corrective action management.
- Perform root‑cause analysis and lead containment and corrective actions using structured methodologies (8D, RCA).
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics (SPC, Cpk) and drive continuous improvement projects to reduce defects and variability.
- Coordinate cross‑functional reviews with R&D, production, procurement and product management to ensure quality requirements are met at launch and in series production.
- Manage measurement systems and metrology equipment (CMM, gauges) including Gage R&R studies and calibration programs.
- Maintain quality documentation and support internal and external audits to ISO / regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Materials Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven knowledge of formal quality methodologies such as APQP, FMEA, PPAP and 8D problem solving.
- Experience with statistical quality tools: SPC, Cpk analysis, Gage R&R.
- Practical experience with metrology equipment (CMM) and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Typically 3–5 years of hands‑on quality engineering experience in precision manufacturing, consumer luxury goods or related industries; supplier quality and production floor experience preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Materials Engineering, or equivalent technical diploma.
