The Prototype Maker joins Montblanc’s Prototyping team and handles every stage of handbag assembly, from preparation to final bench finishing. The role is full-time and permanent, under the collective agreement for workers in the leather and leather-substitute manufacturing industries, with an annual salary of €40,000–€45,000.
Role & Responsibilities
- Read the pattern and define the construction stages for the prototype.
- Make prototypes through preparation (including skiving), trimming, assembly, edge finishing and final bench finishing; sewing knowledge is particularly valued.
- Exchange information regularly with the Prototyping, Patternmaking and Industrialization teams on issues and their resolution.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience as a prototype maker, preferably producing handbags and large leather goods for sample collections.
- Excellent knowledge of the stages required to make a prototype.
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to work in a team.
