Montblanc is hiring a Product Manager — Writing Instruments (Core Lines) in Hamburg. Lead product strategy and lifecycle for Montblanc’s core pen ranges.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and drive the product strategy, roadmap and assortment for Montblanc’s core writing-instrument lines, ensuring commercial and brand alignment.
- Manage end-to-end product lifecycle from concept and specification through development, industrialization, quality control and launch.
- Translate market insight and competitive intelligence into product briefs, pricing strategies and SKU rationalisation to maximise margin and sell-through.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales and Marketing to deliver launches on time, on cost and to specification.
- Own product forecasts, inventory planning assumptions and promotional cadence in partnership with Planning and Wholesale/Retail teams.
- Develop sales tools, technical documentation and training materials for wholesale and retail partners; support commercial teams on product knowledge and selling points.
- Track product performance through KPIs and P&L drivers; propose corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven product management experience within luxury goods, premium consumer products or technical accessories; strong preference for writing instruments, watches or leather accessories background.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen with experience in assortment planning, pricing and margin management.
- Technical understanding of product construction, materials and manufacturing processes relevant to writing instruments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and project leadership skills; able to lead cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Fluent business proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with PLM and SAP systems highly desirable.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using sales and inventory data to inform decisions.

Experience
Typically 3–7 years of product management or merchandising experience in luxury or premium consumer goods, with a track record of managing core product ranges and driving commercial results. Prior exposure to technical accessories or precision-manufactured products (e.g., writing instruments, watches, leather hardware) is strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Design or equivalent; advanced degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
