About Moët Hennessy

The estate supplies grapes to several prestigious houses and combines deep viticultural heritage with strong commitments to sustainability, technical innovation and precision viticulture across an extensive Champagne vineyard.

Moët & Chandon in Epernay seeks a Vineyard Engineer (Apprenticeship) starting Sept 2026 to support PARSADA trials and precision viticulture across Champagne.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and conclude field trials under the PARSADA programme to reduce reliance on conventional plant‑protection products and validate alternative techniques (biocontrol, stimulation of natural defenses, OAD use, early symptom detection).
  • Deploy and monitor viticulture‑precision solutions (robotics, satellite imagery, embedded sensors) and participate in their operational roll‑out across the estate.
  • Evaluate and compare vine training systems, notably the recent VSL (semi‑wide vine) deployment, and report on their agronomic and operational implications.
  • Manage and follow trials related to soils, fertilisation, cover crops and plant material health; contribute to strategies against vineyard decline.
  • Provide specific technical support during harvest: monitor ripeness, perform berry sampling and conduct micro‑vinifications to assess experimental outcomes.
  • Document results, prepare technical reports and communicate findings to vineyard teams and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Enrolment in an engineering or master’s programme in agriculture, agronomy, viticulture or equivalent (alternance/apprenticeship eligible).
  • Strong motivation, intellectual curiosity and autonomy; demonstrable appetite for field work (≈50% of duties).
