Moët Hennessy seeks a Senior Legal Counsel, EMEA in Paris, France — experienced commercial and distribution lawyer to advise regional management.
Role & Responsibilities
- Act as primary legal business partner for the EMEA management team, providing proactive legal advice across commercial, distribution, regulatory and risk matters.
- Lead and manage legal matters for the defined EMEA countries, including Global Travel Retail and Private Client matters; coordinate cross‑border litigation and dispute resolution.
- Draft, negotiate and finalise a wide range of commercial agreements (marketing, service, sales/purchase, distribution, outlets and strategic transactions).
- Ensure consistent implementation of global legal policies while tailoring guidance to local legal and regulatory specificities across jurisdictions.
- Coordinate and supervise external counsel across multiple jurisdictions and maintain strong collaboration with legal colleagues in other regions and specialisations.
- Act as the liaison between EMEA countries and global legal leadership to ensure alignment, transparency and timely escalation of key issues.
Qualifications
- Qualified to practise under French law (French law degree); additional Commonwealth/UK legal training is advantageous.
- Fluent in French and English, with excellent drafting and oral advocacy skills in both languages.
- Minimum 10 years' relevant legal experience in commercial and distribution law, combining leading law‑firm and in‑house advisory roles.
- Proven track record managing legal matters across multiple jurisdictions within a complex, matrixed multinational organisation.
- Demonstrable commercial judgement with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives; strong executive presence and stakeholder management.

Experience
Minimum 10 years' post‑qualification experience in general commercial and distribution law, with significant exposure to advising on multi‑jurisdictional matters from both leading law firms and in‑house legal teams.
Education
Qualified French law degree; additional Commonwealth/UK legal training or comparative law studies desirable.
