Joseph Phelps Vineyards seeks Senior Hospitality Manager in Saint Helena, California for luxury wine estate operations leadership and guest experience excellence.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the Hospitality Manager, Supervisor, and Estate Ambassador team to deliver exceptional daily guest experiences and operational excellence
- Oversee all Guest Center operations including hospitality experiences, retail sales, wine club engagement, and guest services
- Maintain full accountability for financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and revenue goal achievement
- Manage retail and hospitality operating budgets while identifying opportunities to improve profitability
- Monitor sales trends, pricing, and guest preferences to optimize tasting experiences and retail offerings
- Oversee wine and merchandise inventory management, including monthly counts, allocations, and vintage transitions
- Manage Commerce7 updates, product launches, and system organization to support operational efficiency
- Conduct routine facility inspections and coordinate maintenance requests to ensure guest-facing areas meet luxury presentation standards
- Monitor hospitality equipment, refrigeration systems, and service infrastructure necessary for daily operations
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for hospitality staff
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster excellence and continuous improvement
- Champion an elevated luxury guest experience reflective of Joseph Phelps Vineyards' values and brand standards
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and escalate significant issues as needed
- Ensure compliance with wine shipping laws, hospitality regulations, and company policies
- Partner with Marketing, E-Commerce, Reservations, Events, and Operations teams to deliver seamless guest experiences
- Support winery events and member experiences through appropriate staffing and operational excellence
- Serve as a wine educator and hospitality ambassador, including conducting tastings and guest experiences
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hospitality management experience in luxury hospitality environments
- Demonstrated expertise in guest experience management and luxury service delivery
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management, forecasting, and profitability analysis
- Proficiency with hospitality management systems such as Commerce7
- Knowledge of wine industry trends and luxury hospitality best practices
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities

Experience
Minimum 3 years of progressive hospitality management experience in luxury settings, preferably within wine hospitality, luxury resorts, or high-end guest services. Demonstrated track record of leading teams, managing financial performance, and delivering exceptional guest experiences in premium hospitality environments.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field preferred.
