Moët & Chandon seeks a seasonal Press Operator for the 2026 harvest in Epernay, France. Two-week contract operating pilot presses at the Robert-Jean de Vogüé Research Centre.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee loading, operation, unloading, and cleaning of pilot presses in compliance with safety regulations
  • Manage press startup sequences and supervise pressing cycles from must flow through to completion
  • Coordinate equipment discharge and press sanitization procedures, verifying cleanliness through ATP testing
  • Assist the Team Lead in controlling grape lot arrival, unloading, storage, and preparation, documenting anomalies
  • Collect and record harvest trial data including refractometric degree, juice volumes, temperatures, and fermentation stages in the press log
  • Retrieve weighing tickets and pallet cards to ensure traceability and communicate batch information to the Team Lead
  • Monitor press functionality continuously, alerting Team Lead and maintenance personnel to any equipment malfunctions or alarms
  • Oversee sample extraction, sulfiting, and enzyming of juice fractions according to technical specifications
  • Maintain real-time activity logging and experimentation traceability through dedicated daily reporting

Qualifications

  • Bac +2 in viticulture or oenology, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum one year of cellar or press operation experience
  • Ability to operate press equipment reliably and independently
  • Competence in rapid technical learning and equipment adaptation
  • Proficiency in information transmission and operational handover
