Market Manager at Moët Hennessy in Kinshasa, DRC. Drive regional growth and brand strategy across Middle East Africa for Moët Hennessy wines and spirits.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement market-specific strategies based on deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive activity, route to consumer, and emerging trends
- Utilize sales data, market benchmarking, and consumer insights to identify business opportunities and inform strategic decisions
- Build a rolling 3-year market potential vision and establish most effective route to market aligned with local needs and maison objectives
- Establish clear roadmap of weekly, monthly and quarterly check-points with in-market distributors to ensure MH agenda implementation and tracking
- Develop tailored sales plans for distributors and strategic accounts aligned with overall sales objectives to maximize revenue
- Analyse and recommend pricing strategies to maximize profitability and revenue across all channels
- Master analysis and interpretation of sales data; develop market scorecards to monitor performance against targets and key metrics
- Timely submission of orders to Hennessy and MHCS in line with shipment plan
- Manage distributor contracts, set or oversee clear trade terms, and ensure compliance for long-term collaboration
- Ensure payment on-time and flag potential credit risks to control Days Sales Outstanding
- Track counterfeit product and illegal trade in market; report findings to Regional Brand Protection officer
- Conduct trade visits to understand local consumers and distributor account relations; maintain close monitoring and relationship maintenance
- Update and maintain clear census of channel and segment numbers in market to support product distribution and assortment
- Develop annual brand plan in collaboration with in-market distributor team, Regional Marketing Team, and maison stakeholders
- Act as brand ambassador for Moët Hennessy, representing the brands with passion to trade, influencers, and consumers
- Collaborate effectively with distributors, wholesalers, and strategic key accounts in both on-trade and off-trade channels
- Proactively communicate market, channel and account progress, challenges, and insights to internal stakeholders; participate in cross-functional project teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, international relations, or related field; master's degree preferred
- 7–10 years of experience in international sales roles; previous experience as a Commercial Manager
- Demonstrated experience across multiple channels, geographic regions, working with premium-level industry partners and wholesalers
- Strong understanding of customer dynamics, market routes to market in Middle East Africa regions
- Exceptional negotiation skills aimed at securing beneficial partnerships and deals internationally
- Excellent presentation and communication skills to represent portfolio and act as spokesperson within trade, official channels, and key influencer networks
- Ability to travel extensively (more than 50% of time)
Skills
Experience
7–10 years of international sales experience, including previous commercial management roles. Candidate should have worked across multiple channels and geographic regions at the premium level, with demonstrated expertise in wholesaler and distributor management. Familiarity with Middle East Africa market dynamics and routes to consumer preferred. Off-trade experience is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration, international relations, or related field; master's degree is preferred.
